It’s like a game where you and a partner play. When you both enter the same keyword of a picture, Google takes that data and uses it in the image search. What a nice way to get free workers.
“You’ll be randomly paired with a partner who’s online and using the feature. Over a two-minute period, you and your partner will be shown the same set of images and asked to provide as many labels as possible to describe each image you see. When your label matches your partner’s label, you’ll earn points depending on how specific your label is. You’ll be shown more images until time runs out. After time expires, you can explore the images you’ve seen and the websites where those images were found. And we’ll show you the points you’ve earned throughout the session.
For example, this image can be described by the labels: sky (50 points), bird (60 points), soaring (120 points), or frigate bird (150 points).”
HD-DVD processing key is leaked today to the public allowing anyone to decrpt and play most HD-DVD movies in Linux. Movie studios are going ballistic over this leak, so Digg the story up and make it reach the front page. The first time, the story got removed.
The first story about this key was deleted when it reached the digg front page however, there is a second one at 8000 diggs the time I am writing this.
I guess I was bored again. Done with ubuntu for the day so I went on to make a site. Well, not really. It’s the Beyond! Lab Proxy. Hey, it’s not my idea to brand everything, it’s because I am too tired to give it a name. Beyond! Lab Proxy is a Anonymous Proxy Site you can use to browse blocked websites from school, work, the library, or any other firewall protected place. Just don’t get us blocked. Of course, it’s hosted under the lab.beyond-innovation which means it’s in beta and testing.
Of course, with a Firefox Extension! With this extension, digg users are longer needed to click through pages to go to the page that they desire to go. In other words, this extension greatly reduces the digg pageloads required to get to your desired destination.
“The broken egg photo in the big poster was retouched, since the broken egg photo was taken independently and then photoshopped over the invitation form.”
I know that this design achievement award is old, it’s still has the irony. Anyway, good job Adobe in breaking your own rules!
Found by someone on http://www.adobe.com/misc//trade.html#photoshop
“Trademarks help protect corporate and product identity, and Photoshop is one of Adobe’s most valuable trademarks. By following the below guidelines, you can help Adobe protect the Photoshop brand name.”
So here are some of them…
Trademarks are not verbs.
CORRECT: The image was enhanced using Adobe® Photoshop® software.
INCORRECT: The image was photoshopped.
Always capitalize and use trademarks in their correct form.
CORRECT: The image was enhanced with Adobe® Photoshop® Elements software.
INCORRECT: The image was photoshopped.
INCORRECT: The image was Photoshopped.
INCORRECT: The image was Adobe® Photoshopped.
I love Adobe and their quality products but what’s up with them? I mean who will bother with this ‘photoshop can’t be a verb’? All of the people post “it’s probably photoshopped or i photoshopped this”. I wouldn’t bother and I believe most people wouldn’t either!
So now you don’t have to worry about those trojan-ed keygens/cracks that you download. And here is the list for your illegally software replacement (linux+freeware)!
whos.amung.us is a widget for any webpage or blog that I stumbled upon this week. I hadn’t gotten anytime to put it up until today. What this ‘thing’ does is showing how many people are on my site/blog (in real-time). Also, clicking on this will let the user see all of the pages that people are on and it will show them the popular pages (sort of like sitemeter).
Just a little update:
More and better pictures can be found here: http://images.appleinsider.com/adobe-cs3-boxes-070325.jpg
The pictures aren’t the best quality in the world but they look pretty fresh and abstract. At least people now can see that these softwares are related to art…
Quote from some beginner way back
“does photoshop cs work on windows?”
It’s pretty self explanatory now.
Oh yea, be sure to comment which of the box design is the best!
