Hey "Domain Names for Smart Domainers"... can you please explain what it takes to transfer a domain from yahoo to godaddy? is it smooth? Any downtime? Also do we need to wait till it gets expired before we transfer with some other registrar?

Someone please?

I too registered a lot, in my eyes, domains with yahoo when they offered $1.99. I get a ton of spam in my yahoo email and almost overlooked the email from Yahoo. Was floored when I saw the price of domain renewals wen't up to 34.99, WTF!

I would recommend using GoDaddy, although I came across a report of the CEO doing some unethical stuff with the domain auctions. Either way, if you want the domain for a while, then register it for more than 1 year. It won't be long before the other registrars follow suit.

I still can't believe it.
