Hancock

Today, I went to see the movie “Hancock”, which is directed by Peter Berg, starring Will Smith, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman. You can see the trailer on Youtube here. It’s superhero movie but in a funny way.

Will Smith plays John Hancock as “a hard-living superher who has fallen out of favor with the public and enters into a questionable relationship with the wife of the public relations professional who’s trying to repair his image.” If you want the full synopsis, you on to IMDB or something - no spoilers here! -. First off, I didn’t read the comic, and some say that this movie is not like the comic. I didn’t love the movie, but I didn’t hate the movie. I definitely enjoyed it because it’s funny.

However, one big problem that I have with this movie is that in the middle, the story turns 360 degrees and talks about another thing. I felt like two completely different people wrote the story. I didn’t enjoy the second part as much as I did before that. A lot of the things didn’t make any sense and some details were poorly thought out. Needless to say, it’s is still good. The ending was a dramatic one and pretty fresh in superhero movies. Maybe this movie is a break from all those movies like “Iron Man”, “The Incredible Hulk”, and “Batman”.

It’s summer time, and if you are looking for some fun, then go ahead and watch it, but if you want a die hard superhero movie, then this is not for you. Well, at least, it’s not one of those good verses evil stereotypical superhero movies!
